- In the future, 2 motorways will be tangent to Dresden: Motorway A4 to the northwest and motorway A17 to Prague to the southwest. The A17 has been under construction since 1998. The A4 connects Dresden to the west to Chemnitz and the south and west of Germany. Dresden is also connected by the A4 which branches off the A14 at the motorway junction “Wilsdruff”, to Leipzig and Germany’s northwest, to Görlitz and Poland to the east from junction “Dresden Nord” and to Berlin and northern Germany by the A13 which also begins there.
